NANCY, I'm a long standing Thornbury nurse too! I can't tell you how many times I've heard this sort of thing over the years. In my experience, the Trust will continue to block book you through Thornbury if you simply insist on it. Mayfair is the copy cat arm of BNA set up to compete with Thornbury. Both Mayfair and BNA are rumoured to be about to be thrown out of all the Bristol Trusts for poor performance...No doubt Thornbury will give you all the reassurance you need if you ring them up and talk to them...

I am a Thornbury nurse, enjoying the support and all the benefits of working for the UK's premium nursing agency. My last few shifts I encountered a nurse from 'Mayfair' nursing agency. She said it was based in London. I then was informed by the Charge nurse of the ITU where I have been getting most of my shifts (full time hours most weeks) that the trust where I had been able to work was, effective December 1 no longer going to be using Thronbury, but had decided to go with 'Mayfair' as they paid the same rates to the nurses but charged the hospital or trust less. I was being told that they would block book me if I worked for 'Mayfair'. As far as I can discover, 'Mayfair' is one of branches? Does this mean that you undercut yourself? I am very confused, please enlighten me. I am not considering changing employers as I am very happy at Thornbury and know that evenutally, they all come back to Thornbury.
